Baby Lisa

Sorry.  There is no way to explain this song.  You have to have raised a puppy or to have grown up in a household where seriousness was very important.

The feeling one gets walking along at dawn and watching the sun light the treetops I can only recommend, not explain.  Living for a while in nature, I recommend that too.  A pond full of ducks, birdsongs in the morning, newspapers and coffee...  I hope everybody gets that part.

Lyrics

Good morning
Puppy; no mess, whew! Glad I wasn't late.
The horse nuzzles me when I open his gate.
Birds call and answer, ducks cruise the pond.
Sun lights the treetops, I’m up with the dawn.

Happy this morning, nice start to the day.
Inexplicably happy, will I have to pay?

Breakfast was tasty. My darling is up.
We share the newspaper and refill a cup
There’s work to get done before it gets hot
Always plenty to do, like it or not.

Happy this morning, we get under way.
Inexplicably happy. What can I say?

<instrumental verse and chorus>

At last comes the evening, the day’s work is through
The horse has his hay and the dog his curfew.
I’m a serious guy, there’s no way to explain
How happy I’ve been, but I’d do it again.

Happy this morning, happy all day
Inexplicably happy but it feels OK.
